Seeing as we have lots of different rooms for the Chat-RP I was wondering if each one should have different rulesets or structure?

For example:

The Hyperion- Like the play-by-post keep this freeform and anyone from any guild can join in at anytime.

The Poison Pit - I recently discovered this Nal Hutta cantina whilst reading Fatal Alliance and I'd like to use this as a freeform RP similar to the Hyperion but make it accessible to Freelancers, Initiates and Agents only. Preferably I'd prefer it if this were the meeting place for Agent and Bounty Hunter characters. Like the Hyperion people can log in anytime of the day or night and mingle with whoevers about.

I think different rulesets for each room could be interesting, so if you have any ideas post them up.

I think this is a great idea, but not sure where we should put the specific rules for each room?

In the chat itself might be kinda awkward due to restrictions - for example at the moment each of the rooms has (IC) or (OOC) in front of the name to indicate if they are in or out of character rooms, but I think if we added anything more the actual names of the rooms might get lost.

We could put them in the E.P.O.C.H. Holonet (Chatroom) thread, but will people remember to go there more than once to read it?

I'd suggest to put it on the chatroom thread and do a clicky as your dice roller clicky.

I think you might be over complicating things

Maybe I misunderstood your ideas but
Having IC or OOC chat rooms is logical and easy to follow for everyone.
and can be easily displayed by a tag in brackets as they are now.

If there are restricted access chat rooms then label them clearly so everyone knows but at the moment I think you might want to encourage everyone to RP together and get some activity going before creating any private clubs just for one class or another.

If a person is half decent at RP or has put more than 2 minutes into their character creation they will know if they have a reason and justification for being somewhere or another. If they don't have a reason they probably won't go there unless it is in desperation of finding some RP beause everyone seems to be always in the private RP channel.

generally I like to be inclusive, unless there is very strong reason to restrict access.
