Level 7
by Jim Reilly
Electronic Arts has inadvertently announced Mass Effect 3 through its online store.

Appearing online this morning, Mass Effect 3 was available for pre-order for $59.99. Only the PC platform was listed, however. The product description gives a few storyline hints. For the third game, Commander Shepard is heading to Earth to save humanity.
Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth.
As expected, the listing was quickly taken down by EA. This confirms a rumored reported by Joystiq that Mass Effect 3 will be announced tomorrow at the Video Game Awards show. We'll hopefully have more details then.

I saw this mere moments before your post on Facebook Nord, nice find!

While the story sounds pretty much what we were all expecting (Sovereign's mum coming to beat us up, lol!) it is still a welcome sight to see the final part of the trilogy on the horizon.

I personally hope they do make it into a film because it would be exceptional. A great setting with some fantastic characters!

Well, they prefer something simple, like Pocahontas in space (Avatar) or Cowboys vs Aliens (sic!)

When I woke up after a night shift to see this mentioned on Facebook I thought

"I bet Nord has seen this and put it on EPOCH" and behold, I was right! Wink

Great video, london looks a bit broken!

Lol, How exactly are they going to solve this problem though?
They barely killed 1 reaper in the first game how will they kill hundreds?

Well after watching that video in the spoiler part of my post it makes me think it would be a good thing if the Reavers destroyed Earth!

ME3 should be great though, I'd like to see how they're going to handle Earth, and how different it looks "in the future"

Having read both Mass Effect: Revelation & Mass Effect: Ascension I am completely behind Nord on this one - what you see in the games is only a snippet of what that character is all about.

...now I just gotta read 'Retribution' (Even if they did steal my Urban Predator II name Razz)

Want me to call EPOCH's lawyers? >_<
And I'm also behind Nord and LW, Illusive man is cool though it's (too) obvious he's a bad guy! He's got Saren's eyes. I wouldn't be astonished to hear he's in with the reapers...

yahoo.fr, translated by myself wrote:
Here's some news that should please both gamers and movie addicts: Clint Mansell will compose Mass Effect 3's music

The Quietus interviewed Clint Mansell about his film soundtracks, before asking him what were his future plans. "This year I'll tackle a video game,"he replied before adding "on Public Enemies and Requiem for a dream, I was reworking old songs, hip hop, sometimes. On Black Swan I composed a ballet based on existing and Mass Effect (3), I am more a sort of DJ, which mixes all these experiences. First is the basic theme and then the big explosion narrative as needed (...) All this music will have to adapt as the player's actions. We must design a symphony, while being able to break its rhythm when the time comes. "

He will succeed to Jack Wall, composer of the first two games. Good news?

Apparently, Bioware has to grapple with 1000 different variables in ME3 and they still have to pull out another DLC pack out of the back before if comes out too! My bet is on bridge between the two games showing how the Alliance will play out in ME3 and what happened to Ashley and Kaiden (Ashley broke my heart on my first run Crying or Very sad then I moved on to a particular shy Quarian)

I always liked Ashley but always thought it was stupid for anyone other than Kaidan (the tech guy) to set the bomb and then stupid to not protect him when you have to choose.
