PostSubject: Activity Warnings   Sun Dec 06, 2009 7:36 am

I've been noticing that a few members haven't been particulary active of late and I'd just like to remind people that being highly active within the guild and on the forums is a requirement of being in the guild. I've sent messages to those that I feel aren't active enough to inform them that I will be removing members unless there is a vast improvement. Obviously I don't want to remove people and I hope you understand that I'm not having a moan but input from each and every member is essential for this guild to succeed.

I hope everyone understand my position anyway.

Seconded.

We appreciate that TOR might still be a way off, but its absolutely essential that we create a constructive and well-balanced community before it comes out.

Aye, it's a real shame too 'cause I hate feeling that I'm moaning at people!

Since it's a well known rule and condition of membership that members must be 'highly active', and if people don't post a reason for prolonged non-postage in the Absences thread, then I personally don't see any need for warnings. Low activity = demotion/removal.

I'm a hard-@%&#, I know tongue. But for the health of any small internet community I personally think it's important to ensure non-activity is dealt with fairly but firmly.

Well at the end of the day the warnings have been sent out and I'll be asking PJK for another activity count soon enough so if things are still looking grim after that then there will be some people leaving the guild. I guess only time will tell if those warnings are taken seriously or not.

Ughm. Can you please retract the activity warnings from the two freelancers please? One of the main perks of the entire scheme is that you don't have responsibility and this includes activity. I believe that we've all agreed on this issue and so they really shouldn't be getting ay warnings. What they do get is a message after three(?) months asking if they want to stay on.

@Harly: It's PM after 2 month inactivity then one month before kick out.

@Smudge: Checking with LW because I heard he was moving from UK to US...

EDIT: Next one is Partisan tomorrow and 38609 and Nex to be removed from our Agent roster as soon as I'd get the asmin rights to do so.

Hmm.. Perhaps we can make it 4 months? Still seems a bit early to me.

I think a warning after 2 months inactivity is fair, all they have to do is post once in the next month to avoid the consequence (which is wut?) but I don't think we should be too hard on them personally, they do have less responsibility by design. Smile

Indeed it was decided at the last meeting that we need to remove the members who aren't putting in any input. I understand that a few people have less responsibilities in the guild but we are an active guild that require active players. Everyone who filled in an application here is asked to read the rules and comply by them, and by agreeing to them they have agreed to stay active. I know a lot of the TOR guilds out there actually kick people for being absent for 2 weeks so I think we're pretty fair considering. We have an absences thread so really there is no excuse for not letting us know if you're going to be away for a while. When it boils down to it E.P.O.C.H is a better place when everyone is putting in effort.

Personally if I had it my way I'd go with this for members:

1 month of no activity & without prior warning of absence = PM warning
2 months of no activity & without prior warning of absence = Removed from the guild.

(So 2 months in total)

I'm not sure about the Freelancers as I haven't really thought about that seeing as my responsibility is mainly for the guild members.

As for the demotions/bootings Soude it's probably best you just let me know when they've passed the 2nd. warning and I'll remove them. Thats mainly because I need to keep an eye on the classes that we need for recruitment.
